About Sandhill Nursery

Originally a small farm deeded through a Queen Victoria land grant in 1868, Sandhill Nursery - with the addition of gift shops and greenhouses - as evolved into a popular tourist destination and a perennial haven for local greenthumbs. 

Owner, Tim Cantelon, and his garden gang are passionate about plants (and trees, and shrubs, and compost) with a depth and range of knowledge that keeps customers happy and their gardens healthy. A Landscape Technician and Horticulturist graduate from Niagara College - and an honest-to-goodness Ontario farmboy - Tim promotes an organic growing philosophy to help keep Muskoka’s natural landscape thriving.

It’s a simple recipe for success: By offering high-quality plants that are hardy and appropriate for the northern climate, gardeners experience an amazing success rate and the natural environment flourishes.
